This photo is of my horse Boss De Cuite Feve, aka, Boss, along with a poem, reflective of my journey and companionship with Boss.
Boss is a 16.3 Selle Francais gelding. He has a blaze and left hind sock and left front sock. He is branded with the Selle Francais brand as well. He is the most personable horse around!! He loves all treats, but wow does he love bananas.
Boss is 19 this year and we have spent several years together competing on the “AA” level USEF jumper circuit in the A/O jumpers. We are still competing, but only a few select shows a year now.
My husband Steve and I have our own farm, Cornerstone Farm and Boss lives with us here. I am blessed to wake up to Boss everyday and see him after work every night.
I have owned several horses throughout the years, but Boss is very special. Everyone that meets him, loves him. He has a “persona” that is like no other. He is funny and lovable and an all around good guy.
Thank you for your time and thank you for providing this contest and letting us share with you the joys of our wonderful “older” horses.
“The Most Special of Horses”
BOSS DE CUITE FEVE – Born April 25, 1989
The story starts with one human and one horse, oceans apart;
A beautiful Selle Francais gelding imported from France, stole my heart.
A human life made more complete with each nuzzle and touch;
A four legged best friend that I have come to cherish and trust so much.
We have spent several years together jumping big fences;
I trusted in you and we made it to high places.
You are now “semi-retired” at our Cornerstone Farm;
Each day is a blessing with you in the barn.
You gave me your all throughout the years;
You also provided a broad shoulder for many of tears.
I promise you will always have all I can give;
Your are the most special of horses to every live!
