2008 Love Your Horse Senior Horse Photo Contest Winners

I have a retirement farm for horses in Vermont, and have quite a group of “seniors” residing here, and credited your Vintage Senior for keeping them fat and happy!!

This gorgeous guy is “Fahrenheit”. After a very successful jumping career, his mom decided it was time to retire him here. He’s been here 4 years and is one of the most entertaining horses I’ve ever met. In this picture, he is 31 years old – yes, 31. I was working with another horse and set up this simple bounce for her. He wandered in the indoor to check things out, and took it upon himself to show the other horse how it was done. I ALWAYS carry my camera with me on the farm and was fortunate enough to catch this shot. I eventually had to block him out of the indoor because he wouldn’t stop jumping. Thank You for such a wonderful food! Although mentally he is young, physically he is 31. He has lost some teeth, most are loose, and hay is a challenge, but he has maintained beautifully on Vintage Senior!!

I also enclosed his “model” pose taken this summer! I am not surprised his career was so successful. He knows he’s beautiful, talented, and intelligent, and reminds me every day of these facts!! I can’t imagine my farm without him!!!
