Safe 'N Simple® Lawn Food 6-2-4

Safe 'N Simple® Lawn Food is a natural based fertilizer containing soybean, alfalfa, and fish meals, organic materials that enhance the soil, increase soil biological activity, and provide needed nutrients for a thick healthy green lawn.

Recycling plant material back into the soil is nature's way of replenishing nutrients and rebuilding soils in natural habitats. Conventional synthetic fertilizers supply plant nutrients. Safe 'N Simple® Lawn Food 6-2-4 provides plant nutrition and promotes a healthy soil ecosystem. The key to long term lawn success is a healthy soil environment.

Nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium (N-P-K) are primary nutrients needed to increase plant growth and high shoot density, maintain a deep green color, promote an extensive root system, and increase plant hardiness. The organic nitrogen in Safe 'N Simple® Lawn Food 6-2-4 provides slow release nutrients for plants allowing grasses to utilize nutrients over an extended period of time while minimizing the potential of ground water contamination from nitrate leaching. A healthy dense lawn will minimize the invasion of weeds and limit insect damage impact reducing the need for herbicide and pesticide applications.

Apply Safe 'N Simple® Lawn Food 6-2-4 on established lawns in early spring, late spring/early summer, late summer/early fall, and again in the fall at 6 week intervals, or use as indicated in our Suggested Lawn Care Program. For new lawns, lawn food should be raked into the top 2 inches of soil prior to planting then follow the above schedule. The small crumbled pellets provide uniform nutrient coverage. Safe 'N Simple® Lawn Food 6-2-4 is easily applied with a broadcast spreader at the rate of 50 lbs per 5,000 square feet.

Safe 'N Simple® Plant Food 5-5-5

For flowers, vegetables, shrubs, and container plants, Safe 'N Simple® Plant Food 5-5-5 provides a balance of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (N-P-K), the three major nutrients needed for healthy plants. Safe 'N Simple® Plant Food’s 100% organic nitrogen is derived primarily from soybean, alfalfa, and fish meals.

Nitrogen increases growth of leaves and stems and gives plants a healthy rich green color. Nitrogen also influences crispness and quality of leaf crops like spinach, lettuce, and chard. Phosphorus promotes root development and is important to support seed formation and the production of flowers and fruit. Potassium or "potash" increases vigor and disease resistance increasing overall plant hardiness and health.

In addition to these major nutrients, Safe 'N Simple® Plant Food 5-5-5 also supplies magnesium and sulfur, nutrients needed but in much smaller quantities.

Safe 'N Simple® Acid-Loving Plant Food 4-6-4

The primary source of nitrogen in Safe 'N Simple® Acid-Loving Plant Food 4-6-4 is cottonseed meal, an acidic nutrient-rich plant product appropriate for holly, rhododendron, azalea, hydrangea, blueberries, evergreens, dogwood, and other acid-loving plants.

Acid-loving plants should be fed twice a year, in spring and again in late fall. For established beds, apply 2.5 to 3 lbs. of Safe 'N Simple® Acid-Loving Plant Food 4-6-4 per 100 sq. ft. New beds will need a double application worked well into the soil, prior to planting. For shrubs and trees apply Safe 'N Simple® Acid-Loving Plant Food 4-6-4 on the drip line around the plant, for trees apply 1 lb./inch of trunk diameter. A pound of Safe 'N Simple® Acid-Loving Plant Food 4-6-4 will feed 3 medium sized shrubs. Fall feeding application rates are half the spring recommendations.

Safe 'N Simple® Pre-emergence Weed Control 9-0-0

100% organic, Safe 'N Simple® Pre–emergence Weed Control 9-0-0 is an all-natural plant product made from Corn Gluten, a dried protein separated from corn during the manufacture of starch in the food industry. Corn Gluten is a common ingredient used in pet food. In 1985, while studying its value as a fertilizer, researchers at Iowa State University discovered that Corn Gluten contains a natural organic compound which inhibits root development in seedlings. Germination occurs, but seedlings die from lack of a root system. The result is an environmentally safe, non-toxic, completely natural weed control.

Safe 'N Simple® Pre-emergence Weed Control 9-0-0 provides weed control and an excellent source of slow-release nitrogen, 9% nitrogen by weight, in an easy to spread crumble form. When spread at the recommended rate Safe 'N Simple® Pre-emergence Weed Control 9-0-0 provides 4 lbs. of nitrogen/ 1,000 square feet. Nitrogen is released as microorganisms break down in the soil.

For best results, Safe 'N Simple® Pre-emergence Weed Control 9-0-0 should be applied in early spring to control crabgrass and again in late summer. Many broadleaf weeds, including dandelions, germinate and establish root systems in the fall in preparation for spring growth. In addition to crabgrass and dandelions this product controls the germination of creeping bentgrass, smart weed, redroot pigweed, purslane, lambsquarter, foxtail, barnyard grass, and Bermuda grass. Safe 'N Simple® Pre-emergence Weed Control 9-0-0 is easily applied with a broadcast spreader. The recommended application rate is 20-lbs per 1,000 square feet. Safe 'N Simple® Pre-emergence Weed Control 9-0-0 can also be used around shrubs, flowers, and vegetable plants that have an established root system. Mix product into the top 2” to 3" of soil at the rate of 2 lbs. (6 cups)/100 sq. feet, repeating 2 to 4 times per season as needed. Safe 'N Simple® Preemergence Weed Control 9-0-0 remains active in the soil for 3 to 6 weeks depending on temperature and pH.

Safe 'N Simple® Farm, Field & Pasture Food 5–1–5

Safe 'N Simple Farm, Field & Pasture Food 5–1–5 is an all–purpose natural fertilizer containing soybean and alfalfa meals, nutrient rich organic plant material that will enhance the soil, increase soil biological activity, and provide needed nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium for healthy lush plant growth. The phosphorus in this product is naturally occurring in the soybean and alfalfa. Added potash increases plant vigor and overall hardiness.

Most pasture grasses do best when the soil pH is between 6.0 and 6.8 (almost neutral). Lime may be needed when the pH is lower than 6.0 (nutrient uptake is enhanced in neutral soils.) Safe 'N Simple Farm, Field & Pasture Food 5–1–5 should be applied at the rate of 400 pounds per acre during the growing season, using a broadcast spreader. The small crumbled pellets provide uniform nutrient coverage. Each particle contains all nutrients. Ordinary mixed fertilizers combine particles containing different nutrients and can separate during application.
